Evidence-based practice change in the longer term

The final video in this series addresses questions regarding how the learning from the RDAC study might be applied in practice. Both Alicia and Marion explore the challenges associated with this, who needs to be involved in the change process, and what that change might look like. They also discuss aspects of the research that would be particularly useful for future practice development in each of their organisational contexts.

Reflective questions

Here are reflective questions to stimulate conversation and support practice.

  1. In what ways do the research findings discussed align with or challenge current practice issues in your organisation/service/team?
  2. What barriers to change might you encounter when trying to apply new learning to effect evidence-led change in your unique organisational/service context?
  3. What resources are necessary to support evidence-led change in your organisational practices, and how might secure them?
  4. How can you include people with diverse perspectives to enhance your ability to interpret and apply research findings effectively in your services/team/organisation to enhance practice?

You could use these questions in a reflective session or talk to a colleague. You can save your reflections and access these in the Research in Practice Your CPD area.
