Children’s Information Project: Using generative AI in case recording

Children’s Information Project: Using generative AI in case recording
Delivered online using Teams
10:00 - 12:00 Thursday, 17 July 2025
Join an open access webinar that will explore how generative AI is changing the way social workers produce case recordings and make better use of information.
Generative AI has many applications. It allows social workers to transcribe conversations, and create case notes, meeting minutes, and other case recordings. It can also help make better use of unstructured information buried deep in case records.
There are many benefits to using generative AI in social work, such as saving time, reducing administrative burden and making better use of information, however, these benefits come with risks and ethical challenges.
During the session, we will consider:
- The opportunities, risks and ethical challenges of using generative AI in social work case recording.
- How we can make better use of information to improve outcomes for children and families.
Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences and insights, draw on the experience of others, and discuss the opportunities, risks and ethical challenges.
This is an open access webinar. We encourage attendance from social workers, practice supervisors, practice leaders, and other local authority employees with quality assurance responsibilities who are inexperienced and experienced in using generative AI in case recording.
